Large-scale Moscow's Assaults Cut Power Across Kyiv

Energy infrastructure under attack in Ukraine
Ukraine's power facilities have come under escalating attacks in recent weeks

Overnight, Moscow's aerial assaults have caused blackouts in extensive areas of the capital city, Kyiv.

Nine people were injured while residents in the city's east were left without electricity and dealt with problems to drinking water, according to city officials.

At the same time, a seven-year-old child was killed in a different assault in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southeastern part, as reported by local officials.

Moscow has intensified assaults on electrical systems over the past few days, while the country's government has demanded "concrete actions" from partner nations to apply pressure on Russia.

"What is required is not superficial actions but strong steps - from the America, the EU and the major economies - in providing protection systems and enforcing sanctions," mentioned in a public message.

Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and several dozen projectiles attacked the country's power systems, describing such strikes as "cynical and calculated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as winter approaches.

Energy officials said Russia was "inflicting a massive strike" and technical staff were working to restore power.

A barrage of missiles damaged electrical systems and apartment buildings in the capital.

Five out of the nine people wounded in the assaults on the city have been transported for medical care, as confirmed by local officials.

Local officials said the urban area experienced intense attacks throughout the evening. A seven-year-old child was killed and multiple civilians were wounded.

The attacks follow nights of bombing campaigns in the territory, portions of which are currently controlled by invading troops.

All of Ukraine is under warning for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are more difficult to spot.

Authorities told journalists that Moscow was deliberately attempting to demolish the national power system, with strikes already impacting fuel infrastructure.

Officials stated technical personnel and authorities were anticipating more assaults.
